Thread: 200,000 miles!!

    Default 200,000 miles!!

Rolled over 200K last week. What a great car! I have probably spent $3,000 in upgrades and maintenance in the last two years (mostly unnecessary stuff), but I believe I will be spending more than that on things I must do the next two years.

Things I have added over the last two years:

Alpine HU, Infinity Reference component speakers, Kenwood powered subwoofer
    Racing Beat 4-1 Header
    FM catback exhaust
    TDR Heat Shield
    Rota Slipstreams
    Dunlop Star Specs
    Momo Steering Wheel
    Hawk Plus brake pads
    Used Driveshaft
transmission, diff, brake and clutch fluids
couple of coolant hoses (due to header)

    Things to do:

Fix worn bolster on driver's seat
    Possible new clutch in future
    Engine refresh (used or rebuilt)
    Front Swaybar
    New soft top
    PDR minor dents

The car is running very well for the miles and age. I need to drive it until my kids get out of college if I can!

How do you plan on fixing your bolster? My drivers side seat bolster is sunken on the left side.

Congratulations! Welcome to the 200k club! I'm about to roll over 284k in about a month! I bought mine with 110k on it so its been tons of fun putting that many miles on it!

I'm right behind you at 282k. I'll be at 284k in about three weeks.

    Why the engine refresh?

It uses oil. I need to have TDR do a compression test before doing anything. I suspect the rear main seal is leaking which will not be replaced until the clutch needs replacing. I am just saying that I will most likely have to do the engine refresh in the next two years. I know I will need to do the timing belt in that time frame, so I might as well do it all or just sell the car in two years.

I had the car inspected yesterday, and it easily passed inspection.

The KwikLube in Rowlett pissed me off yesterday. This kid goes out to my car before starting the inspection and walks around the car twice. Then he says my taillights have tint on them and that it will not pass. They don't have tint on them, and then I realize I have seen this kid before. I tried to have my van inspected at the Jiffy Lube last year, and this same guy says my van brake lights are not bright enough and will not pass. He started taking my taillights apart and told him to stop. I went to the KwikLube and had no problems passing inspection. I guess this guy does not like doing inspections or maybe he just does not like me.

There's a guy like that in Denton, he always finds a reason to send you on your way. I stopped going there.

    245k for me today.

I tried avoiding this guy, and that is why I went to KwikLube. Unfortunately, he moved from the local JiffyLube to the KwikLube!
