What about shock length? Did 949 change the lengths?

You can look at mine some time and compare the difference but I'm not going to give away AST's secrets on the internet, lol.

Yeah I know. Do they have a shop I can visit or is it a home based business? I didn't see anything on their website as for an address. Also, are the Xidas specifically tuned for the Miatas? I thought there were differences between the two; Xida and AST. Guess it depends on which adj. I get, 1, 2, or 3 way with reseviours.
Xida is 949racing's custom AST for the miata. Emilio worked with AST to market his own custom spec'd coilover.

Can you explain this a bit? How do you know it's the low-speed compression that needs to be changed? Driving down the highway on Koni Str.t, my car seems to have low amplitude high frequency bounce. I've been wondering what that means in terms of what would need to be changed to "tune" that out? Is it a compression or rebound issue? To ask the question more generally, how do you know when it's the compression that is over/underdamped versus the rebound being over/underdamped?

Personal preference. Mine aren't over/under damped but after talking to someone else, that adjustment would be a bandaid for driving improperly. lol.
Your issue is high-speed valving most likely, and you'd like to have less of it. However, you probably don't have enough spring rate to do it.
