Thread: Long Beach Grand Prix

    Default Long Beach Grand Prix

I was lucky enough to go to the Long Beach Grand Prix for work, and I snapped a few pictures with my phone. We sponsor Eric Foss in the GTS class of World Challenge.

We started with a golf cart drive of the track during the time the drivers had to walk it. That is Eric on the right, and Pat Lindsey on the left.

This is our race car. Capaldi Racing maintains the car for us, and the whole team was very accommodating the entire weekend. That's Leo Capaldi talking with Eric.

We were set up in the World Challenge paddock area, here are a few photos from it.

Our stall was directly across from the SCCA trailer, so we got to see every car go through tech.

This is the grid before the morning practice on Friday

We were second quick after both practices, but the new 302 Mustangs had a ton more speed down the straits.

    Grid before qualifying

Randy Pobst had a run in with the wall during qualifying

They towed Randy's car in and dropped near our trailer. I was eating my lunch and watching them rebuild the car

When it came time to race, we only made a few laps and then we had tire issues

    Loading up after the race

It was such an amazing weekend for me. We'll be going to 3 more World Challenge races: Mid Ohio, Infineon, and Road Atlanta. I should have a better camera by then.

Seems like a cool weekend. When Onething and I went to Houston for the GP, watching them tech the cars was one of the coolest things. The specialized tools they had developed to check clearances were very cool.

Cool shots! I didn't realize the 911 had such a short wheelbase, looking at the scale pictures.

You're a lucky guy, Daniel. Enjoy the job!

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.
