Looks like he was driving a 280z. Here's another Hallett video (sans Newman) from 1977. I was about 10 years old playing with AFX slot cars then, some of them looked like these in the video.
I saw Newman race at Road Atlanta and Elkhart Lake back in the day. Everybody ignored him, I think that was one thing he appreciated.
