Thread: Broken honda on the way to work

Default Broken honda on the way to work

My Civic died on the way to work, it was running fine, then as I was slowing down I felt it start lose power. It died and I was able to pop the clutch and it started again twice. At the stop sign it died and would not re-start. I'm thinking fuel filter, pump, etc.

Anyone know any good towing companies around Flower Mound? A tow to Denton seems pricey to me, but it doesn't seem like a road side fix will work either. ???? Sorry this just happened and lucky for me another teacher stopped and picked me up and brought me to school.

    UGH...

I've used this place for a few small things on the S2000 a few years ago. They're right off I35 and business 121. They only work on Honda/Acura. Nice guys and honest.

No advise except, get an AAA membership for the free towing. Your insurance may have towing built in. It's worth a shot. Good luck. Hope it's an easy cheap fix.

Thanks Jamie, I just realized the phone is in the car. I thought I grabbed it. I'm going up there during my conference period.

Okay, went to check it out with a mechanic friend (son of a lady here at work). We heard the fuel pump and since it did start we're thinking cam sensor first and then go from there. I'm going to have it towed home (if it's not a ridiculous price).

Find someone with a truck and tow it with a strap.

yeah, I was looking at that option, but Driftdevil's guy is a good hook up and TCB approved (sort of), and much less hassle. Thanks Jamie.

It's not the timing belt, so that is good. I'm gonna throw a coil in it first and try the distributor if that doesn't work. There are cam sensors inside the distributor so it's a pricey piece.

Meanwhile, the miata and I are enjoying each other. I actually put the hardtop on.

Hondas have an electronic main relay which have solder fatigue issues. It happened to me. http://www.honda-acura.net/forums/do...relay-fix.html Super easy fix, once you find the relay under your dash board.

Got a junk yard coil and distributor together for $50 with shipping. Put it on yesterday and it fired right up. I'm betting it was just the coil, but having them together sure made it easier.
