The '02 is in getting some BS warranty work done at Hiley in Hurst. It was it's second trip back since they had to order some parts. We weren't thrilled with there troubleshooting abilities the first time around.
My lovely IMVivid calls near the end of the day to see if the car is done and the girls says, "They were working on the paying customers vehicles first."
How did they know I was associated with that car???

Actually it may not have been the most PC reply, but at least it was honest! I have to give them partial credit.
I didn't realize they even had their service department up yet - last time you had been there you mentioned that they were going to have to famr it out to their South Arlington location.

Nope they are now doing service on site, in the old Toyota service dept. We will see how they do, I’d prefer to have them do the service rather than run to Arlington or Irving.Originally Posted by altiain

Hopefully your recommendation will play out a little better...

Thanks I'll try to remember that name for it's next visit! IIRC they told my better 1/2 they had a Miata specialist, would that be Mark?Originally Posted by droptop
Probably. He is a good mechanic although he comes off a little slow. He isn't, just the way he talks. Good attention to detail and no B.S. He services all my uncle's cars. He likes Miatas but wifey won't let him get one. :/Originally Posted by POS Racing
He used to service my Protege and did some warranty work on my 10AE. Never had a problem.
Well I can gurantee that Vivid will not be going back to Hiley Mazda for any more work that needs to be done. They left black grease stains on both my seats. Luckily I have leather seats and with a lot of scrubbing I was able to get those stains out. Plus I now have 4 nicks in my car from where they replaced my radio. So needless to say I would not recommend Hiley to anyone I know. If there is a next time I'm taking it back to Freeman.
I hate that dealership...
I took my protege there because it had a miss on cold start... they told me I used the wrong brand of spark plugs. They could eitehr replace them with the factory spark plugs for me and see if that helped (at a cost of $160) or I could go change the plugs and come back later.
The tech actually reccommended "change spark plugs and try a different brand of gas" on the sheet.
Took it to the dealership in Denton and they replaced the warped head (under warrany)
Nope, it might be the closest dealership, but my cars aren't going there..

I can tell you this much, when she got home after picking up the car. My daughter and me hid out in the Panic Room until she cooled off!
Will it every go back there for service? I can say that’s “Hiley” unlikely!
1. POS - That is why I built a shop/Panic Room
2. I.M.Vivid - you went to the wrong Hiley - IMHO
Mine never goes to the dealership in Tyler. I drive a long way to get decent service in Arlington.
Most of my experiences have been with Hiley- Arlington, and haven't been negative yet. AND, all have been at No Charge. Nothing to complain about here.I drive a long way to get decent service in Arlington.
They (Hiley-Arlington) did work on my 94 way back when. It was in and out in less than a day; of course, it still had to go back to the body shop for the rest of the repairs.
Their parts dept knows me by voice now though, lol.

I purchased my wife's Tribute there last Summer. Haven't been back, don't plan to. Hiley Arlington seems to have an OK reputation for their service department.
Hiley of Arlington may have a good service dept. but my car will not be going back to any Hiley dealership. Freeman may be a long drive from my house but the first time I took it to them they left my car clean inside and out. I still have residual black grease stains on my passenger seat. So I'm sorry for those of you who like Hiley but I do not rate them high at all nor will I recommend them to any one.
Accidents happen. Did you notify the dealership and offer them a chance to resolve the problem? It doesn't excuse the situation but I'd like to think your incident was unusual.Originally Posted by IMVivid

You Know Me. I'm a nice person. When I get lousy service, I never complain. I never kick, I never criticize and I wouldn't dream of making a scene.
I'm one of those nice customers. And I'll tell you what else I am. I'm the customer who doesn't come back. I take whatever you hand out, because I know I'm not coming back. I could tell you off and feel better, but in the long run, it's better to just leave quietly.
You see, a nice customer like me, multiplied by others like me, can bring a business to its knees. There are plenty of us. When we get pushed far enough, we go to one of your competitors.
