Andy Cost's 10 tips for winning at autocross:

10. Wave at the corner station as you pass.
9. Put three bottles of octane booster and a Red Bull in the tank prior to each run.
8. Don't use the brakes, they just slow you down.
7. Take a passenger that you really want to scare or impress.
6. Loud pipes are 2 seconds faster. (except at Pennington)
5. Get some of those funny looking driving shoes.
4. Get a 450 pound 7' tall co-driver to intimidate the competiton.
3. Modify AXWare to change the index for your car.
2. Protest everyone else in your class
1. Become President of the club and pass a rule that you always win no matter what.

Technically I think it shaves even more time off at Pennington. If you do it right you could finish before you start.

This is true, I once ran a time of 0.00 in my Elise there with some loud exhaust pipes on the car.
