Thread: THREE NAs today!

  1. #1

    Default THREE NAs today!

Driving home from lunch, some guy in a green Miata going the other way. Didn't even seem to notice me, even though we were on a 30mph industrial street.

Driving home from work, I hit the off-ramp from WB Bush Tpk to NB 75 fast enough to make it fun, and right as the wall ends another Mariner Blue NA FLIES by me. THe other ramp can be taken much faster so I usually end up even with any cars coming off that but this girl was cookin'. I got past her and she actually got up next to me and waved! We cruised up 75 for a bit and then saw a red NA easing along in the right lane. That blue one was clean, too. Made me envious.

It's nice to see them out and about, and even have friendly contact with some.

I've only ran into a few over here. Someone at work is driving a really clean stock Red 94+ NA here at work. Haven't seen them and I only see the car probably once a week or so. We both park in the parking structure here.

If "over here" is the Saginaw area, all I ever see are stock NCs. I see the occasional white NA, but that's it. I used to see Brandonpace and his brother all the time right by my house, but haven't see either in quite a bit.

I really don't even see that many on my way to/from UNT from Haslet. Kind of surprising really.

Agreed and yes "over here" is the Saginaw/North Fort Worth/ West Fort Worth area. I don't even see that many NCs out and about. Go further west and the only Miata I see out there is my mom and dad's lol.

I see at least 4 NCs a day on the days I leave the house. And if I'm not going to school, I really only go to Saginaw Man I need my car running....lol

I see a ton of red or white NAs on my way to and from work. Literraly ALL of them are driven by old overweight women, and not a single one has ever acknowledged another Miata just waved. I see this asian kid in a decently modded civic hatch all the time, with similar oldschool wheels as mine, but all I get are mean stares from him, haha.

I see a slew of NBs and NCs, don't think i've ever had a wave returned by a single one of them.

When I drove my car out here it was the same for me. Some NBs would wave, but very few and far between. NC drivers wouldn't even look over, but most were much older men and women so it doesn't surprise me much that they only care about having a tiny cheap cute convertible.

Same thing happened to me when I had my Z and the 350z came out - apparently most 350z owners didn't know/care about the Z lineage, so they never returned any headlight flashes or waves from a Z32 guy. Stupid newbies.

I wonder if we should do dfwmiata.com cards or stickers... just in case some of the people are enthusiasts but don't know about the site.

I feel the same way... people who just go "oh neat!" and have no clue what the vehicle's history is or what it's about and capable of. Jeep drivers seem to be the same way. Jeeps with street tires all over the place.

The plus side to that, though, is those people funnel more money into the future of those vehicles, so they're still around for those of us that truly appreciate them.
