that must be a 93+ thing then. Mine is to the left of the cup holder in my 90. Silly Mazda moving things like that around.

POS - you want to send him a link to check the shift turret too, while you're at it.

Nah he asked a question about how to check the fluid level (I think) so I figured I'd just answer the question that he asked.

israel why you wanting to check the fluid level? Are you having a problem??

Is there not a transmission fluid level to check in the turret?

That is true. Maybe you could build him a diorama out of post-it notes showing the setup.

Isn't a diorama usually a landscape around a model? So you want me to make a diorama of the trans tunnel and center console area? I'm confused.

The word diorama can either refer to a nineteenth century mobile theatre device, or, in modern usage, a three-dimensional full-size or miniature model, sometimes enclosed in a glass showcase for a museum. Dioramas are often built by hobbyists as part of related hobbies such as military vehicle modeling, miniature figure modeling, or aircraft modeling.

From the same wiki: The current, popular understanding of the term "diorama" denotes a partially three-dimensional, full-size replica or scale model of a landscape typically showing historical events, nature scenes or cityscapes, for purposes of education or entertainment.

I got all day (and the question's answered) :)

This would fall under "purposes of education." Duh!

Still "landscape." Unless his transmission is in pieces littered all over his garage, a model of the trans would not be considered a landscape. You could say it is if you're trying to point out specific spots on just the transmission, but that wouldn't be the case if you were trying to show him how to check the turret fluid level, since you have to go through the interior, making the transmission an object/model in a surrounding landscape.

OK fine Jersey Shore you win.... But it would have been an awesome addition to your Post it note Garage!

If I had a spare trans that I needed to find a home for, it would be.
