Sad, yes. Not surprising though. When your contract says you can't do "x" and you go ahead and do "x" anyway, you can expect to get schwacked.

That's one of the problems with the state of society these days; no wiggle room. No way in hell they were even making a dent in DP sales in DFW, Much less overall. You are right, of course, but why not just let a 120 year old tradition run its course. Is it really a big problem that the Internet brought them more customers?

Ill drink the replacement version if it tastes the same, but I'm still saddened by the casualties of progress sometimes.

My wife and I took a tour of that plant about 5 years ago, interesting see the old equipment they were using. It was a very low volume operation.

The "Heritage Dr Pepper" doesn't tast like Dublin at all.

I'm glad I picked up a couple cases when I went through Hico last weekend. Going to have to save them for a special occasion.

    The bastards.

We must boycott Dr Pepper Snapple products:
    7 Up
    Mott's
    A&W Root Beer
    Orangina

    A&W Cream Soda
    Peñafiel

    Barrelhead Root Beer
    RC Cola

    Cactus Cooler
    ReaLemon
    Canada Dry
    Rose's

    Clamato
    Schweppes

    Country Time
    Snapple
    Crush
    Squirt

    Deja Blue
    Stewart's Fountain Classics
    Diet Rite
    Sundrop
    Dr Pepper
    Sunkist

    Hawaiian Punch
    Venom
    Hires Root Beer
    Vernors
    IBC Root Beer
    Welch's
    Margaritaville
    Yoo-hoo
    Mr and Mrs T
    Nantucket Nectars

It sounds like DPS made the Klosters an offer they couldn't refuse.
I'll be interested to see what the other soft drinks Dublin Bottling Works are going to be.

Some of you know what a big fan I am. For those who don't, I'll just say that one of my neighbors called me as soon as he heard the news on the six o'clock news.

Man that blows... I went to Dublin last year after stuffing my face full of brisket and ribs at Hard 8 in Stephenville. I really didn't need a Dublin DP float, but it sho' was good...

Hard 8 is pretty damn good. It's not as good as Louis Mueller's in Taylor, but it's better than anything local. Price-wise, it wasn't too bad... I got a bunch of leftover meat out of it, and the beans & beer were free.
