It doesn't take intelligence to be a thief. In fact I believe lack of intelligence is a requirement for most crime.
My brother drove his wife in her car to the hospital for a checkup, she had preclampsia so they had to get the baby out early.... (healthy baby just very premature at the moment and hurray I'm an uncle!) but while my brother was in the hospital someone broke into her car and stole it.
There is an ad on craigslist now.... less than 24 hours later.... and I kid you not this is what it reads
"Honda civic ex 4 door whole car and tuner rims for sale by parts....note whole car is fine and running ...just do not have a title and it has been broken into and ignition was tampered with...I'm willing to sell car as parts all of car is fine just don't want it sitting anymore....note one flat tire"
They contacted the police already to try and catch this moron, but I cannot believe someone is THAT stupid.
lol, these are the people we bankroll with welfare.
I remember when I found Forest's car in Ft. Worth. We had to basically beg the police to go arrest the guy. I had a vin, pictures, an address...and we could not get the police to go over there without essentially holding a gun to their head and threatening to go to the news.

My feeling is that the police really don't want to be bothered with stollen cars. When they stole my Accord I pretty much had to beg them to come out and do a report. Two days later they found my car with two guys in it and arrested them. However the police said that since they didn't see them actually steal it they couldn't press charges and let them go.I was told they were back on the street even before I got my car back! The officer I spoke with said that is just how the law is written and the thieves know it so there is little they can do to stop them.

Absolutely incredible....... whats worse and less intelligent than this thief? The police!!!!!!!!
They have the guys address and gave it to the cops... the cops told him... and I KID YOU NOT "Youll have to ID the car before we will send a guy out there". So now my brother is driving his brand new GTI out to the ghetto... to ID his car so the cops will get off their asses and do something about it. I can't believe for one.... they would be THAT lazy.... and for two.. they would put his life at risk searching himself for his lost car. They should be doing that!!!!
I'm fuming, if I were there I'd probably get myself killed yelling at the police and bashing this guys door down.
goddamned cops don't do their mandated job anymore. all they care about is harassing people and violating peoples' rights.

It's a lot easier to write "middle-class +" people traffic tickets all day than chase down your stolen car in the ghettos with thieves that don't pay fines. Police don't pay for fancy infra-red video imaging at $15k per car or $10k breathalyzer equipment in each car with stolen car fines...they pay for it with traffic tickets.

UPDATE:
A news story was on TV the other night in regards to the theft....
http://www.wtkr.com/news/wtkr-navy-w...,5683867.story
Shortly after.... people donated TWO cars to my brother and his wife, an old civic and an old minivan, also he has received nearly $1000 in gas cards thus far AND he got the original car back, though it's in very poor condition.
PEOPLE CAN BE AMAZING sometimes. He was having very tough times, it's difficult to afford a new house, a new car, and support his wife and new child, even as an electrician in the Navy. My father and I were trying our best to help him out, the help they gave not only saved him but us as well! Just fantastic!
Who found the car? PEOPLE did. Not the police.
Brand new GTI and the wife has a $1k civic? Am I missing something?
Yeah he has a new GTI that is broken down needs like $4000 worth of work. He couldn't afford the car in the first place and they REALLY took him for a spin at the dealership since he was in military uniform and had never bought a car before.
He bought the car prior to getting married and having a child.
We tried to get him to buy something sensible and cheap but he wouldn't listen lol. His life though.
Seems to run I the family.![]()
