Default Average Age of American Cars is Now 10.8 Years

This surprised me. But after calculating the average age of my fleet (94, 98, 01, 09), I guess I am about average.
    1990 White NA - SOLD
    1994 Black NA - SOLD
2006 Red NC - GT with limited slip, HIDs, all OEM.

The average age of my parent's fleet (84, 86, 96) is 23.3 years. They have not bought a new vehicle since the purchase of their 1984 Chevy Silverado pickup!
    1990 White NA - SOLD
    1994 Black NA - SOLD
2006 Red NC - GT with limited slip, HIDs, all OEM.

    For my fleet, 1963, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2000, 2002 = 19.3 years. If we count my 1948 Ferguson, the average is 25.7 years.

Including all of my cars from the past year though 2004, 2000, 2006, 1992 = 11.5. Pretty close.

    '79 Accord, '85 RX7, '94 Miata, '00 F150 - 22.5 years old

But before the Miata my DDs were the '85 RX7 and an '84 BMW... the 7 was the summer car and the Bimmer was the winter car.

I read that as the average American made car, so it's a zero for me. 2 Mazdas and a Honda, all foreign.

    93,97,00 so 15 yr. average.

And, this Ferguson runs, it's the '63 Impala that doesn't run TODAY.
