Thread: February Cars & Coffee

    Default February Cars & Coffee

Who's going? I met up with the DFWMazda guys last time and it was fun to roll in with a bunch of Mazdas. Downside to that is that they meet up at *yawn* 6:30am in order to aggregate. So...6:30am at the Cinemark Theater south of the BMW stealership and we'll be at C&C before 7. Guaranteed parking together. Otherwise, good luck! Last month it was really crowded by about 7:15.

    Can't tell if serious.

In case you are: It's a mega-huge car meet that happens the first Saturday of every month at Classic BMW in Plano. Search Flickr for "Dallas Cars Coffee" and you'll see the types of cars that turn out. Even on the coldest, cloudiest first Saturdays there are several hundred cars in attendance.

Sorry, I was serious - but wow, that's less than 2 miles from me, I can't believe I didn't know about it Thanks for the link!

EDIT: Is there like a separate parking lot for not-so-exciting cars to park? lol..

mk2tmr2, it was a pleasure meeting you today, it was a shame that we didn't get a chance to talk a bit, hope you have a nice weekend onwards and look forward in seeing you/the absolutely beautiful NA of yours again in the future.

I was the person with 91' NA, BTW.

    Nice turn-out today. Quite a few cars/models I hadn't see before.

The Ferrari FF and the Fisker Karma are huge! And the McLaren In black is pure sex. Sadly, the new Porsche 911 looks a bit like a two-door Panamera...

That was a way cool car show. I have never seen that many Ferraris in one place before. I agree, the Karma is ginormous. Had a really cool solar panel roof, though. The Noble was also a very interesting little car. I was encouraging the owner to show up at one of our auto crosses. I would love to see that thing run. I cannot figure out the appeal (other than the absolute snob appeal) of the RR. I think I would rather buy a 7 series AND a Ferrari or a Lambo for the same money. As a bonus, I could save the money I would have to pay Jeeves to buy a membership at one of the tracks.

It was nice to chat with you briefly, too. Sorry I got whisked away by a friend who showed up a little late.

I, too, was marveling at the wheelbase of the Karma. Holy cow. It's like a limo. But the lines on that car are gorgeous. Especially the back half. I enjoyed drooling over them.

Next time it will be warmer....I hope.

I went for the first time, and have to say I was very overwhelmed. Many of the cars there I have only ever seen in video games, internet/magazine articles and Top Gear. I managed to get my tongue back into my mouth long enough to take a few pictures, but was drooling for most of it:

I must have showed up a little later, or just not gone to the right row, because I didn't catch the Fisker. The website said 8-12, so I got there around 9:15-9:30. I'm not sure what time it was, but by the time we made it over to the Ferraris I saw your car as you were leaving, mk2tmr2. Do people usually take off pretty early?

you got there at a good time, paradox. I ad been there since 6:50 and was cold, to the bone so I decided to leave early and warm up. People do tend to start leaving at around 9:30 and it is typically a very thin herd by 10:15. If you want to have the best chance to see everything, try to get there at 8:30

A guy I work with was there with his '00 Vette. Some lady in a '10 Camaro SS had a seizure and rammed his car at full throttle. He said the Camaro was on top of his car at one point. He's supposed to send me a link to some pictures.

Any of you guys see it happen?
