    Default Miata newbie here@

Hey guys, Miata newbie here lol. Been looking for a decent RWD for a while now, after countless hours of research I came down to 3 choices: Miata, a BMW 3-series, or wait for the FR-S/BRZ to come out in the summer. But life forced it's hand and I had to get a car so I found a used 06 3rd Gen Limited(the 95th one according to the tag inside for those interested) up in Plano last weekend and picked it up.

I'm a college student at UTA so my Miata is pretty much for daily driving. I used to drive an AT Corolla and practically never driven stick so it was quite an awesome learning experience how to drive the 6 speed box on my Miata, I'm not perfect at it but I can drive it quite well now without stalling haha. But anyway, as of now, I've got no plans to do extensive mods to my Miata, just keep it as a daily driver. So if you see a velocity red mica Miata rolling around Grand Prairie and Arlington, that's most likely me lol.

Anyway, a question if you guys don't mind answering. Is there a place around DFW that sells a clutch extender or maybe even a DIY tutorial for one? I'm 5'5 and so I've gotta sit a little close to the wheel, about 10 inches away from my chest to the Mazda logo, but I honestly would rather drive it safer and would love to get that clutch out by at least 2 inches haha. Thanks.

Welcome, have fun with your Miata, I mean MX-5.

A quick search found this. http://www.pedalextenders.com/ Scroll down for the MX-5 clutch kit. Not TCB approved, but looks good.

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Welcome! Be sure to extend all the pedals. I'd be at least as concerned about the brake pedal as the clutch. I'm about your height and was taught by experience that sometimes the brake pedal has to go all the way to the firewall repeatedly before the car will stop. Newer cars are more reliable, but still a possibility.

    YMMV

The clutch pedal is adjustable on the MX5. Won't go two inches, but might be enough.
