I came off course each time out of breath and mentally taxed. Haven't done that in quite a while. And it's not like I'm not in shape or old or something. Well, scratch part of that.

Mad props to JJ for a nice layout. Hoping the Pro will embody some of that spirit. Except maybe the "offsets of pain" near the finish.

To JJ: meant to tell you this yesterday when we were talking about the course. When setting up offsets, the aspect ratio (offset from centerline divided by distance between cones) is what typically determines the level of pain/enjoyment for that element, assuming straight entry/exit. Between 3:1 and 4:1 seems to be the sweet spot...anything more open is flatout for many...anything tighter is painful. Much of that finish was in the 2:1 range, so they drove more like a series of 90-degree turns. Just a tip that may help for the future. Feel free to ignore as the ramblings of a grumpy old guy.

Also thanks to JJ for spelling me at the end so I could get out of there a tad early. I barely made it across town for my other commitment, but got it done. Thanks!

I agree that the finish was awful. It was the one part of the course that I did not like on paper when I created it (not part of the Pro course) and then I made it even worse by changing it at the site.

That's good info on the offsets. I appreciate it and I have kept a note on it.

The finish was great simply because it wasn't the same ol' easy crap that doesn't require any skill to do halfway right like we usually see ... most people don't like things that require effort and sometimes they just need to be ignored

Big props to Jerrett and crew for another very well run event. NTAXS puts on the most entertaining events in DFW, hands down.

I thought the course was pretty good. Yeah, the finish was a bit painful, but the rest of the course was challenging. Just wish I could have driven it better.

We had a great time even with our "teething pains" issue with the car. Just wish we would have brought more gas for one more run.

It was a blast to play out in MWs again. I have forgotten how much fun having that much room can bring.

Awesome event guys! The course was a workout and a real challenge. Took me all day to get my head out of my ass and slow down. . Should have been clean in the 88 - 89 sec range, the had that easily. Big thanks to slowchild for the codrive. The car was a blast to drive.

Nice treat to have Andy make fun of us all during the afternoon runs. :)

Jeff Slater sent me a video this morning of run #3 where he clearly did not DNF. The driver before him had some issues, so there might have been a mix-up. While the results show him in fourth in class one, the points will show him in third, where his 90.973 time would have placed him. I will also award Brad Henderson points for third.
