Those of us participating in the event will probably get there around 8am'ish
Then there's the crowd that meets at McDonalds at about 7:00am to do some pre-event excuse generating and to bulk up for the day's events. Most folks seem to like the McD's on Route 20 at exit 419 (just before you get to Weatherford). But the smartest MMEers meet at the McDonalds in Mineral Wells, about a mile past the turn (1195) to the Mineral Wells Airpark.

LOL, the first one is one exit up from my house.

There is a place in Mineral Wells called Dairy Mart, Do you guys know where I am talking about?

I still make a drive out there from Weatherford some times for a cheeseburger, they are the best in town IMHO....YUM YUM

If ya'll don't know about it I will be glad to provide info for those interested, would be a great place for lunch break.

That Whataburger, in fact all the roads leading to Whataburger and McDonalds are under heavy construction right now, so be careful if your car is real low....just a tip from someone in this neck of the woods.

Another suggestion, the same exit North side of 20 frontage road headed back towards Weatherford..is a new Sports Bar called "O vertime Sports Bar" might be a post Auto X destination for those which might enjoy a frosty one on the way home.

They have great food and new pool tables too.

I'd like to go after the races. Cold beverages and Pool tables. What more could a CB ask for, well other than free beer and pool.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

Kewl, they have Golden T also and a couple other games if anyone is interested in that.
You go on the frontage road like you are going to What-a-burger keep driving past and its down the road on the right (of coarse) betwwen the Chirch of Christ and Ace Hardware. Its a really kewl looking stone building. and once again its called Overtime Sports Bar
    here is their #817-441-6881.

The number is in case someone would like to get a head count and call ahead or if someone gets lost, I think since they are new and need business they might be more apt to cut a discount of sorts for the club.

    Turn thread drift on

When I worked in downtown Fort Worth a few years ago we'd play pool 2 or 3 times a week up there. Nice tables, simonis (sp) cloth and ok sticks. I always play with my own stick though. (POOL STICKS, so back off.)

I have another Miata driver that is coming out with me to watch the racing, cant wait til this weekend sounds like a lot of fun.

I am not sure what you would call it but do you guys ever go on like, local drives? where people meet at one location and drive scenic routes with stops along the way for food and such?

I used to do this all the time when I rode Bikes.

Just curious, dont throw anything at me.

Yeah, we do. Look back through the Events & Drives Section and you'll see that we've done several. However, they seem to happen with less frequency during racing season.

BTW, come on out and get to know some of the guys face-to-face this weekend, and then feel free to suggest a drive if you've got a route, a destination, and a day in mind. We prefer anarchy to organization - anyone is free to suggest, plan, and announce an "Event" at any time, although tailchaser seems to be the best at organizing group drives, even if he doesn't build in enough potty breaks.

Hey everybody! This is my first post here. I've always been a miata lover, but I've been autocrossing a 97 M3 sedan for the last two years.

I finally saw the light and decided to turn my 94 black and tan into an E-stock car. This will be my first autoX in the miata, so I've got a lot of learning to do. I replaced the busted old stock shocks with AGXs (wow they're inexpensive compared to BMW parts) and got an aggressive alignment. I'll be using the all season tires that were on the car when I bought it 3 yrs. ago, so I'm not expecting too much from them.

Anyway, I can't wait to meet everyone! See ya on Sat.
