Default NC Throw out bearing toasted.

Hmm, I though something sounded funny. What I found when I dropped the tranny after work today:

What I think is funny. My wife, driving the car back and fourth to work. Who is deathy afraid of driving my s2000 snapped her clutch in half. But lucky it was only at 24k and they replaced it under warranty. And it was an 06 I gave her in 07 with only 3,600 miles on it.

I'd be interested in hearing more details. Mine shattered at about 17k and I went thru hell to get 50% coverage.

From looking at the pics I would guess it was a combination of heat and rpms. I would look at part numbers from all of the NCs and see if this part has been upgraded on later models.

Definitely replace the clutch while you have everything apart.

All back together, all new parts, everything is copacetic. Clutch pedal feels nice and smooth, and it handled the trip to TMS and back fine.

I think the dealership has the most to do with how much trouble. Right before the warranty was up the soft top started falling appart, and it took 2 months of fighting anf phone calls to get the top resolved at the dealers. But the clutch issue was no questions asked we will take care of it. And that was a dealer in Irving.
