Does anyone know a good source for watch repair/service in DFW? One of my Hamiltons with the 7750 Valjoux movement needs to be cleaned and serviced. Looking for a reputable place that is familiar with automatic movement watches that doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

I have an old Batman watch from the 1960s I would like repaired (wound too tight). I got it when I was a kid and would like to wear it occasionally.

I've been very happy with Texas Jewelry. Both my parents have had watches (and a clock) fixed there, and they were the only place I found that had a good-looking band that matched my nice watch - for $45, I might add. I normally go to their location down at Webb Chapel and Royal, but it's my understanding that their watch repairman is actually in Carrollton. They do great work at a reasonable price. Had my TAG cleaned and serviced there for about half of what the fancy-pants places wanted to charge.

If you don't mind me asking what was the cost for the Tag service and was it an automatic or quartz movement? Mine is an auto chronograph so it might be more.

I don't know about pricing, but this guy was a professor of mine at UNT who left teaching to do this. He's a very cool honest guy. I'd give him a call. Chris Sharp referred you.
