Hey Sammm, aren't you glad you spent all that time converting your car to an MS-R Package now!

Bye-bye Magical toyos?
And it looks like they are paving the way for the toyobaru to be the car-to-have for CS. Hopefully this brings in new blood...

^ LOL you are mean!
So why does the SCCA feel they need to banish the Toyos??
Something about it being the de facto tire for STC, STS, and maybe STF. I know a guy back in AZ who was thinking about developing his STR MR2 based on the 195 toyo!

Good, cheater tires and soft pax bastards.
M3 is always the answer.
Looks like the M3's get to play again, since the E46 and E92 went to FS.
CS looks very attractive for the NC right about now. I'll have to see it before I believe that the Subota is ready to dominate, but I'm willing to listen.

I think they knew it was coming.

Slates knew about it when we had dinner last week. He had a peyote vision, I think.

Yeah, I had heard some rumors about this when I went to a Milwaukee Solo meeting last month. I think is not a "good" proposal for a couple of reasons: 1. Who knows whether the Toybaru can compete with the 370Z once the kit cars are out of CS, or with the RX-8? Then what do you do with a class that was pretty competitive and well subscribed that you now screwed up. 2. It makes BS course dependent. Higher speed courses or courses with lots of offsets or slaloms may be better for the MSR/Z0K. They should have provisionally classed the Toybaru for a year and settled back to see what happened in my opinion, rather than potentially screwing up two pretty well subscribed and competitive classes.
There were two of these cars in Milwaukee last weekend. One stock and the other in STX trim. Nice looking cars - but they will need a lot of work to run with anything in CS right now. The STX car was about 4.5 seconds off my time. As an aside, I cannot figure out why they didn't class them in GS along side the lower horsepower Genesis. Seems like a better fit to me.
I have no plans to ditch the MSR. I still think it is very competitive in RT even with a BS index, and with the index, who knows how it will stack out next year.
Have fun this weekend.
If they want to ban the 195 Toyo they should limit it to STR where all the NB paranoia exists... Letter written
I know STS and STC are pretty well dominated by cars that can run the 195 Toyo, so it shouldnt be an issue there, but how many cars that are STF=eligible would not be able to run it? I'd be curious to know which classes are like STR, where some cars can't run a 15 in any width.

Tires that work better on some cars rather than other is an issue that isn't new and it isn't going away. In fact a few years ago it went the other direction for a while, the STC Civics all got beaten at nationals by a 240SX which could fit a better tire that the Civics could not.
As things are now the NBs can barely hang with the rest of STR. Take away the Toyos and the NB is not going to be competitive at all.
