Default Anyone used an ultrasonic parts cleaning service?

I have a varnished carburetor that's sat a year. I was wondering if anyone knows of a local place I could get it cleaned ultrasonically. Preferably the east side. Thanks.

I dont think it plays well with solvents per the reviews. Good idea though.

Can you just soak it in a big can of Berryman Chem Dip?

I don't have any, but I bet VatoZone has it... prolly cheaper than ultrasound!

The new stuff on store shelves is much weaker due to lower VOC rules by EPA.

Well, it's still prolly worth a shot. Open it up in a closet with the door shut and see how those VOCs treat ya.

I know the spray stuff still works wonders.

it certainly 'burns' less than the old stuff, but cleans really well. i use it along with a can of brake cleaner to blast out little ports.

You would think that with it being a Harley all the gas would have leaked out before it got a chance to varnish up the carb.
