Thread: WTB: Left Rear Brake Caliper and Replacement 1.8 Cat

  1. #1

Default WTB: Left Rear Brake Caliper and Replacement 1.8 Cat

Looks like my car is throwing a CEL for dead cat and believe it or not the previous owner put a right side rear caliper on the left side and mounted it upside down. Let me know if you have either of these items sitting around you want to sell.

Here cosmos, I've prepared an updated classified for you that will save you some posting:

WTB: Left Rear Brake Caliper and ALL Replacement PARTS FOR 1997 Miata

PO did no maintainence, so I will be rebuilding this car from scratch. Please bring a spare miata to my house so I can transfer all the parts. Be on the lookout for a FS ad in about 6 months with the caption "all new parts!"

P.S. I doubt it will take 6 months for me to punt this hooptie.

This car sounds like a basketcase, jo-jo. Were you drunk when you bought it?

Of course, there's nothing else to do in East TX besides drink and go to the gun range/bowling alley all in 1 building.

The car is actually pretty solid just needs some upkeep, it's a 15 year old Miata.

Very serious I'm not forgetting a gun next time. We were in the middle of no where. End up remaking Deliverance or something out there.

You would be very out-gunned. Just tell them that JoJo is your gardener and you'll be ok.

Unless it's a bonsai garden that wouldn't fly. When is the last time you saw an Asian doing landscaping?

Yeah, I think Mr. Miyagi passed away a while ago... And Jackie Chan just did bodywork in his spare time in the recent Karate kid. Guess that makes no one!

I can bring it to ER next weekend if you want it.
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.

I was able to grab both the caliper and cat this weekend from rawmiatanv. Nice meeting you and thanks again!

Anyone have a good condition cloth driver side NA seat or aftermarket seat that bolt in?

Yes, actually. It's faded to more of a dark gray, but there's no holes, tears, or about-to-be holes or tears. From my '90, has [blown] stock headrest speakers. I did a foamectomy on it. I also removed the rear pad that just slips in and out...I *might* still have it somewhere, not sure. I just rolled a towel for lumbar support.

I can get you pics about 4pm today if you want.

Well it turns out the caliper I picked up was frozen and only functional as a paperweight so still looking for another rear driver side caliper...

I think that Miata is telling you what I tell everyone: "Should have bought a Honda 2000! ROR"

Show me a S2000 for less than 4K and gets 30 MPG that uses $15 autozone brake rotors.
