Thread: Dial up...

  1. #1

    Default Dial up...

Dial up ain't so bad. I'm on Dial up until we figure out our broadband solution.

    This forum loads quickly anyways.

Strangely enough, I'm in a new (2000+) housing development and DSL isn't available here.

May be going with Comcast cable unless the Dish guys have a broadband option but Comcast wants $50 a month.

If you're worried about $50/month, then don't bother talking to the DISH people. It's more expensive and pretty slow by comparison.

On the bright side, Comcast is REALLY fast.

I had cable and now have DSL. I seem to have less problems with the DSL but I don't use the Yahoo browser. Will someone please tell me how to post pics on this board. I have a car domain page but I don't understand how to put pics here.....Jerry

Comcast is coming out Sunday. (strange)

    Anywho... It's $19.95 a month for 6 months and $55.95 a month after that.

Until then, I'm on the World Wide Wait....

If you get Comcast cable TV too, you'll get a discount on that.

Does there infrastructure demand that much or are they just raping everyone? Hell, if they kept it at $20 a month I'd be onboard...

Going with Dish Network to get a DVR built into the receiver.

    3Bean,

Yeah, $55/mo is similar to prison rape but I gotta have broadband cuz dialup just sux. It's my only option which is probably how they are able to charge that.

Didn't go with DirectTV? There are a lot of fanatics on here. Also, much easier to hack in to...

We have SBC's DSL deal: go with their All Distance service (unlimited LD for $19.95/mo) and you get the DSL for $19.95/mo. too. Our total phone/DSL/long distance bill is $90/mo including all the taxes, fees, and bells & whistles. It ain't cheap, but it's a nicely integrated package.
