Never had that one. Chimay red label might be my favorite fancy beer. It's about $15 a liter I think.

If someone can get a six pack, I'll throw in for a couple. I'm gonna try to order up one from a friend in LA.

you bums need to join me for a night of real beer and stop drinking that grocery store beer.

Trying. I was told Vegas was sold out (2 different people). Trying my Orlando and NC/SC sources. If they fail, I know people in California and NYC/NJ, but I don't think any would ship beer once they try USPS and find out it's illegal (through USPS, not UPS or FedEx). But yeah, I said I'd pay $100 for each and every 6-pack they can get up to 4. So we'll see.
I'm veeeery tempted... but i'm also tempted to spend it on another bottle of scotch and start homebrewing again.

Nothing. Stores got 36 6-packs each in most cases, with lines over 100-deep. Nada for me.

I looked as well, but the only place I found any was Canada, and it was illegal for them to ship outside of Alberta. They are all over fleabay for over $300/6-pack.
Rumor is I'll get to sample some over Christmas. I'll let you chuckleheads know how it was.![]()

I will be so jealous if you get to try it! I'm not a huge beer drinker but it would be something fun to try. I didnt find out about this untill it was too late so I figured that my chances of getting some are nearrly impossible. Unless Santa brings me some... or Robs connecctions pan out. Both seem to be equally capable with connections in many places. Fingers crossed!
I got nothingI asked my aunt to check the places in the Carolinas, and she did, but they were all out too. She did send me a bunch of Duck Rabbit Head Milk Stouts though - haven't had those since we were last in the area, so that was a good surprise. Apparently the ones on eBay for dumb money were about the only ones available at stores.
Damn, well at least it workd out for you. How did your aunt ship beer? I thought it was illegal to do that. Maybe I will ahve to ask some friends to try that.
Same way she has, and a few other friends have, before: UPS or FedEx. Both companies allow it, but most employees don't know that, so it's unofficially "frowned upon." Beer companies, namely Sam Adams, that have contests requiring you to mail them your brews suggest two different ways to go about it:
1. Package it really well in a plain box and hope for the best. Mark the box "fragile" if you want, but no real need to. This is how all the beers I've received in the mail have been shipped.
2. Package it real well in a box and label the outside "live yeast" or "yeast samples" or something along those lines. Again, mark "fragile" if you want.
It *is* illegal to ship via the USPS, due to a law dating back to the prohibition days.
I'm going to have to say that I think that is a load of malarkey. Not every state allows the shipment of alcohol unless you have a license, and ours isn't one of them. UPS and FedEx won't allow it unnless you have a contract with them.
