Didn't even attempt it...too many idiots. Working from home today.
For crying out load took me an 1-1/2 hours to get to work this morning.
No one in Ft. Worth can drive is there is snow in the air it is just shocking.
Drove past a couple of wrecks were I'm still trying to figure out how exactly they wrecked..... Plus I saw more aggressive and stupid moves this AM that I have seen in a while!
GregW is fixin to be busy!![]()

Its days like this when I am glad I have the 92 Chevy truck/2-ton sled, and I can take side-streets all the way to work.

There was just so much stupidity going on this morning.... I'm having some Coffee and a fistful of Advil!
The Richaland Hills Po-Po closed the bridge to 183 & 820 so three lanes of Davis Blvd. were jumping to 1 lane but not until the folks in the closed lanes could see the whites of the cops eyes....
The Southlake/Colleyville 2nd and 3rd wives and not age appropriately dressed old dues pretending to be younger dudes were in full "get someone on the phone this is bullshit" mode.
Me and my poor 19 year old Miata were awash in a sea of botox and low testosterone!

+1 on working from home, didn't feel like idling in traffic for hours.

Said F-it to driving on I-30, took Northwest Hwy across town, very few patches of ice. Made it in the same amount of time as my usual commute on a clear day.

Meh. My 15 minute commute took me 40 minutes this morning. Left the S2000 at home and took the CR-V. Drag raced a Challenger SRT-8 (guy was driving like a terrified rabbit - he'd freeze up and then bolt) and won.![]()

Left at my usual 5:45AM. Took a little longer to get in. Snow was just started and only wet roads. Did have too many bunnies on the roads scared to go. But did not see any wrecks.
M3 is always the answer.
Drove the Jeep in. No issues other than laughing at people who looked like the afore mentioned terrified rabbits. Just took it slow and steady. That was at 6:30 this morning in Denton County where it was sticking to all the road surfaces and not just the bridges. One bad accident almost shut down 121 over 35E. The good thing was after I passed that there was very little traffic and a nice easy drive all the way in.
I left home at 6:30 and headed downtown in the scubaru and didnt have any issues with the roads or other drivers. I just kept an eye out on the overpasses.

I've nearly died twice in my lifetime driving these damn streets. Once was heading into Ft. Worth on 121. Right before I35W, the ground drops away from the road and you are elevated. Streets were completely dry until this point, so I was driving the speed limit. Hit a patch of black ice in the right lane and did a full 360 across 5 lanes of traffic. At one point I was nose to nose with a guy in a white chevy pickup truck. I can still remember the look on his face ... it said "oh dang, this is going to hurt." I managed to not hit anyone and stopped spinning about a foot from the cement divider.
I've spent many years driving in snow up in Colorado. If you can see the snow, driving on it is easy. But the roads down here scare me. Be safe out there.

The bridges around downtown Dallas were very bad around 7AM. I was going no more than 10 MPH and went side way on the bridge from I30 to HWY75. I think the guy in the SUV behind me must had pissed in this pants and took his truck head on to the conceret.

I was too lazy to scrape the snow off the car, so I went to school on two wheels. Less traffic than usual, but I didn't have the motorcycle lot all to myself today... Go figure.
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org
