What happened to Oz man? Did somebody stick a banana in his tail pipe? Maybe he can't win unless he designs the course. Sat and Sun were off pace for him.
I actually like the shorter courses given the rest of the format, number of runs and abrasiveness of the surface. You are essentially talking about doubling the amount of runs. Which is great, but people who don't want to destroy their tires at one event will be at a disadvantage. That being said. I think a high 20-to-low-30 sec course would be perfect assuming SS/SP type cars.

Do the same event at Crandall and I bet attendance isn't a problem.

Consider that you need at least 20 sec/side for the fastest cars, and 75-100' between the two courses and the standard 50-75' safety margins around the edges and fixed objects, you need a site that can accomodate a minimum 75-80 sec single course. MW is really the only place that can do that in the DFW area. Even before TMS got shrunk, it was too small to get more than 15 sec/side unless the courses are crazy-painful.
It would be kinda fun to do an asymmetrical mirrorcross at Resistol. :)

We have discussed that and it isn't out of the question.

You do realize Madarash will still attend, right?

That's what I meant. I'll let him drive the Stalker

Drag strip? Maybe the GT-R will make an appearance afterall. Even if a Miata beats me by 3 seconds in the autocross I'll still make up 4-5 seconds in the 1/4 mile![]()

I enjoyed the mirrorcross for a nice change of pace, but I still prefer a standard autocross. Once or twice a year is OK but I would not want to do any more.
Driving the S2000 down the drag strip does not excite me in the least. I have been down a lot of drag strips on something a lot faster than the S. Really if I wanted to drag race that is what I would be doing instead of autocross.
Big thanks to everybody that worked so hard this weekend to make the event happen.
I was thinking drag strip into an autocross and then into the field for a rally cross. We will let Blanton go first so there will be a path through the fence.

Not necessarily. To maximize space, you'd need to do a closed circuit with two run-in chutes. It would look something like this...
You still get standing starts ...the only tricky thing is getting the finish right. You need two people standing directly opposite of each other on the left and right side of the course and both people need to agree on which side crossed the plane first. They radio in to the announcer/trailer who won and by how much. Makes it super-exciting for all parties involved!
