FWIW - The '94's had the Mirror mounted to the windshield frame and not directly to the windshield.

I broke the windshield on my '96. You'd think a replacement would be easy enough to get, and I suppose it is if you don't mind having the 'doghouse' laminated in the glass or a rearview mirror mount adhered to the screen.
This leads down a rabbit hole of half-information. What I have found so far is that all readily available aftermarket shields have the 'doghouse' and rearview mirror mount. Further, that the earlier models (1.6) aren't as wide as the 1.8 windshields are; I suspect this is due to a difference in mouthing. One of the techs said he believed the earlier ones used a glue/gasket combo where the newer ones simply utilized glue with a surface trim piece.
I'm using a slider mirror now, and don't want the doghouse laminated in or a rearview mirror mount or any tint at the top of the screen. I need help sourcing one. Can anyone help find a clear windscreen, free of any adornments?

I cannot seem to find anyone who has a plain, clear, unadorned Miata windshield! I'm about to put out a reward...
Good luck with that. All I've seen are the ones with the shading along the top. 90-95 have a rear view mirror attached to the windshield frame. 96 is when they started mounting the rear view mirror to the windshield.
I checked the Mazdaspeed web site, and they don't seem to have windshields. Nor does Rosenthal's.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Rosenthall carries them, but they won't ship. I found a place in town that will get them, but wants $156 for the glass, then another $200 to get it here, then the installation fee. I may as well just go to the dealer.
Yeah man. You know what I'm going for... The tint and mirror mount is no bueno. However, if you have a line on a clear one...
When I was shopping windshields, the clear ones could be had through the glass dealers, but they were special order with 3-4 week lead times and 360-380 before installation. I'll take the tinted one thankyouverymuch - $125 installed in my driveway the next day.
Does the blue one have a clear, un-tinted windshield? Apparently there is some tool you can buy to aid in successfully pulling them. M thinking it can't really he sold anyway... I'd flip you some coin for it if we can wrangle it out without turning it into microcrystals.
Make sure Titus isn't there to help you pull that windshield...
