I'm very pleased with the Continental DWS on my E91 BMW, but it's got pretty short sidewalls. I've never driven on any Bridgestone's that I liked. No direct 970 experience but the 070 communicated LOTS of road noise.
It's almost time to get tires for the Civic again. I've gone through a few sets of all seasons on this car and I'm wondering if there's a better set.

Right now I'm finishing up a set of Kumho Ecsta 4X and while I was pretty satisfied with them the first half (or so) of their life, they did not wear well and lost a good amount of grip. They have good steering response (granted a bit of tread squirm as expected from most A/S but definitely not the worst I've experienced), pretty stiff sidewall but not so much that they were uncomfortable and were good in the rain (even standing water).
I've used the BFG g-Force Super Sport but they've been showing their age. Just don't have the grip of newer tires. They were great when they came out, though (based on my limited testing of other tires).
For a short time I tried (then sent back) some Continental ExtremeContact DWS's. They had great grip (maybe a little bit more than the Kumho Ecsta 4X), but their sidewalls were extremely soft. I believe they were also very comfortable (for obvious reasons).
Looks like, according to Tire Rack testing, the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position is the way to go. Can anybody comment on them?
