Clutch replacement price?

I need a new clutch on my 1990 miata and I've been quoted from 700-900 at local transmission shops. I personally think that's too much. Anyone know of any good shops or people that could do it.

If you have a tools, jack stands and a place it doesn't take long at all if you decide you want to diy it.

+1 on MiataSolutions or Trackdog, which ever is closer. Stevan (MiataSolutions) did my '94.

+1, it's not that bad if you have some experience , just takes awhile.

If he would just stop doing good work at a fair price I'd bet he would have more free time!

$700-$900 is not outrageous if you consider the amount of labor involved. It takes about 9 hours for one person. That includes replacing the rear-main seal, trans seals and power washing the transmission. We could probably squeeze you in if you want Track Dog to do it.
