    Default Granbury Miata

Howdy all. Thought I'd introduce myself.

Longtime Miata guy currently living in Granbury.

I bought the Miata back in 2002 for ~$3200. It's a '90 A-package. Originally picked it up for my daughter -- but she didn't like it much (so much for "chick car"). So, I started driving it and it quickly became my favorite car!

I drive the dickens out of it. Rolled over 200K lask month. Currently sports a 10psi Greddy turbo (been turboed for about 25K) with MSPNP, water injection and cowl induction. 170RWHP (keeping the VLSD alive). Enkei 15x7s with tire du jour. Full FCM suspension. One heck of a daily.

I've got a great commute. Back roads between Granbury and Mineral Wells. Ideal for the Miata.

I'm on the prowl for a roll bar. Looking for a Hard Dog hardcore that fits a glass window soft top. I live about 7 miles from MSR-C, and am itching to get this thing on the track.

Anyone need help with turbo or MS, just give a shout. Years of experience with that.

    Some pix:

Welcome. MSR is a blast, you live too close to have not been out there yet. I did my first track event out there in 00' and just bought my car 9/99.

I have a HD Sport that fits glass window I could be talked out of. Currently on my 99.
Maybe its not a sport, not entirely sure. It is on my 99 w glass window, and also cleared the hardtop.

Thanks for the warm welcome gents.

Yep, familiar with the auto-X course at the old helo pad. I'm frequently buzzing you guys in our test aircraft (blue/white Baron with "EXPERIMENTAL" on the side). You're right, need to get my butt out there.

I tried to PM you, but I kept getting kicked out. ??

Anyway, interested. My main concern is the broomstick test. I'm average height (5'9"), so maybe I'll be OK with a Sport. How about a "test sit"?

If I were to do it over, I'd probably look for a 94-95 car as a base for modding. Comes with the 1.8 and all the upgrades associated with the 1.8, but is not OBD-II.

But, to be honest, they are all excellent cars. Heck, I've still got the "dreaded" short-nose crank. Not an issue if maintained. I don't let "professional" mechanics touch this car though.

Welcome, have fun with your Miata.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Yeah, I've had a lot of fun with that picture. Everybody gets a laugh and then they launch into "chick car" jokes. Ahhhh . . . the unwashed masses.
