Default Like new SSR/Watanabe RS-8 wheels with Azenis - How hard do you ball?

Why choose between ex$pen$ive SSR wheels or even more ex$pen$ive RS Watanabe wheels when you can have BOTH at the same time?

These wheels come from a bygone era when SSR owned RS Watanabe - or the other way around. Don't ask me...I didn't even have my driver's license yet. How am I supposed to know? Geeze. What I do know is that 1) these wheels are not made anymore and 2) even if you are crazy enough to import a used set from Japan, you're not going to find a set in this offset. They were primarily made in Miata.net offsets.

These are 14x7" +12 offset. If those numbers don't mean much to you, maybe this will: stock fenders need not apply. You'll need a decent roll all the way around.

The wheels have been professionally refurbished by Wheels America in Dallas. The centers are powder coated bronze and the lips are polished. All new bolts hold these 3-piece wheels together. They also have brand new RS Watanabe valves.

As you can tell in the photo above, the tires are 195/60-14 Azenis RT-615's. They have loads and loads of tread left (see below). I've got a good alignment on the car and have maybe put 1,500 miles on them.

They do not come with center caps. Why not? Because I didn't receive them with center caps. Also, the center caps that came with these things were ugly. So, basically I'm doing you a favor.

How much do I want? Considering the heritage, rarity and panty-dropping mistique that these wheels carry: they'd be a steal at $arm+leg.95. But I'm a reasonable guy, so I'll take $2,000. That doesn't include shipping if you require it.

Sexy wheels and they look perfect on Rooster? Why you selling? Did you find some JDM wheels made out of unobtainium and painted with the blood of 1,000 Japanese virgins?
    ...and across the line.

Bought something more appropriate for an R2Limited.

I bought his OEM STO Edition wheels. The same wheel that came on the R2-Limited back in 1996.

Also picked up a stock exhaust.

    Looking for stock suspension.

I think you see where this is going....

Umm.. You're going stock on a car that looks like but actually isn't a R2 Limited? To each their own but I thought Rooster was one of the best around. Does that mean your ditching the headlights too? What about the interior bllng? How far you going with this?

There ya go! I guess this was unfathomable to br so he naturally assumed I had lost all sense of style....or something.

I've got an offer to swap interiors plus cash. But that's really a lot of work that I don't want to do...particularly since the guy who wants to do the swapping is in Florida. So I'm going to see what I can get for the car with the red interior in tact. If I can't get something close to what it's worth, I'll probably part it out all the way down to as close to stock as possible without swapping a NA8 head back on.

You fickle little bastard! Just when you get a gorgeous Miata you part it out or sell it.

I'm sad to see Rooster go.

It saddens me a bit, too. I'm hoping the replacement will cure that.
