Looking to buy a good condition Miata Battery for NA model. Must be able to hold charge. Just seeing what's out there before I pay the big bucks for a new one .
Batteries Plus claims to have an AGM battery for $109.

I bought my agm battery from Oriellys in May. It works great.
+1 for the O'Reilly's AGM battery. Part number is MIATA.

I've never had a warranty work on a battery..... they last the warranty length, then fail.
That said, the agm in my Miata was a mazda agm battery from 2000 I believe....

Same here. Even the Optima batteries with the "lifetime" warranty were a PITA to get covered. Seems like they all lasted just as long as a regular battery, but they were over twice the price.
My last Miata battery just up and died one night when I stopped for gas - I've had more than one die like that in my experience, not just in the Miata.

I get the 13 lb cheapies for $36, and be sure to never leave on the lights.
If I do leave the light on, a push-start gets me home.

He's probably referring to the Walmart lawn and garden batteries meant for riding lawn mowers. (Serious)
