    Default 400,000 miles

Today, the odometer passed the 400,000 mile mark. Still has the original long block, but the car is starting to show its miles. I may have to start looking for a replacement after I join the half a million mile club.

Thats awesome! Congrats! What weight and type of oil(conventional, synthetic) you use?

    Thanks.

I use Purolator or Wix (NAPA) oil filters. When I change oil, I use two quarts synthetic and the rest conventional oil. Straight 10W30 for the most part. At this point, I no longer focus on which brand, but earlier I preferred Havoline.

I don't know if it would be a good idea to follow my oil advice, though, since I burn through two or more quarts of oil per week. Sometimes, when it is cold, I'll substitute one of those quarts with 5W20.

I'm guessing valve guides and at least 800 miles a week.
