Congrats, jigger! Enjoy it. I've always had a soft spot for Minis, and life would be rather boring if we all drove safe, reliable appliances without any character.

Yeah, I guess I should wait a month or so until the "good time" is over and he understands what I'm talking about.

I'm not making wise cracks out my ass. I have direct experience with the issues. Like warranty claims that eclipsed the purchase price within the first year of ownership. FWIW, I LOVE them and think they are the near perfect "car". Seating for four, cargo space, small footprint, decent interior quality, sharp styling, and good power make a nice package. But the irritating failures were horrible.

Warranty claims that eclipsed the purchase price in the first year? That's called a lemon.

Nice looking Mini! A friend of mine is on his second Cooper S now. His first one had the big-ass sunroof, which he ended up hating with a passion - it rattled, made wind noise, made the car hot, and was generally a PITA that he never used. The one he has now is a solid-roof Clubman - more room for dogs and junk - and it's pretty sweet. I thought about buying his old Cooper after thrashing it around town a few times (and realizing it's a goddamn quick little car) but didn't really want a car payment. He hasn't had any major problems with either car, although the old '07 did have plenty of minor warrantied annoyances.

It's only a lemon if the same issue pops up three times, or is unfixable. When NEW problems constantly appear, it's just a MINI.

I'm not clear here: are you saying you do or do not like Minis, Jason?

I don't know if any of you picked up on this but I don't think he likes Mini's. But I could be wrong.....

Clear? Hardly. This is a glowing endorsement. I think you're reading him all wrong, POS.

I love the concept. Loved it while it worked.

    Hated the failure rate.

We had 'fun' working on Mike's to replace the radiator fan. Something so simple was a major PITA.

Tomas is a Mini tech, and he gave us valuable insight/ help. Maybe he will chime in.......

Correction about the sub, it's a 10, not a 12. I'll get all the info on it when I get a chance to pull it out and get the details. I do know it's one of the better end shallow cabinets. My wife stole the car and drove it to work so I don't have it here. Give me a couple days i'll get you the info.

Haha, i'm giving a few days to account for inevitable kids/weather/laziness. You know.

Though she might have run off on me. I'll find out in a few hours if she doesn't show up I guess, lol.

I thought about buying one, but I rather not...besides 2 cars that do the samething for me not what I need, I require something I can drive in any weather. But I seriously considered this over the miata.... but the miata was cheaper so here I am. Congrats!
