We have had an event there. It is beyond awful, the surface is so bad that mod cars really couldn't even run at half speed. Also very small usable space.
Have any of the local clubs ever contacted Texas Motorplex in Ennis about having an AutoX there? Maybe it's been attempted before, but in light of loosing Dallas Raceway I thought I'd float it out there...

More likely.

The SCCA had a single autocross there in June 2010. The lot was provided for free as partial payment for the SCCA helping with a Super Chevy event. The SCCA did not bother using the other free lot rental they offered. It was not a popular event.
ER has run a couple of autocross' for the Super Chevy and Ford drag events over the years, where they can bring their cars over to the course and give it a try for free. Even for non-autocrossers in drag race cars (not setup for turning) the participants noticed how bad the surface was. Total no-go.

Terry and I checked it out for a Mustang vs Camaro event this year. Most of the lots are crumbling and full of chuck holes. There is one small lot on the north end of the drag paddock that can be used if you are desperate, but other than that it's in bad shape.
