Default Looking for a new radio

Does anyone have a suggestion on a reasonably priced radio (free-$150)?

I don't have a sub or fancy speakers and just looking for a stock replacement w/ green LCD, USB(or ipod ready), and AUX.

I want one like this: http://www.rakuten.com/prod/pyle-plm...Fa1j7AodeBYAfQ

    What do you guys think/suggest?

AND... YES, I know it is a marine radio. (Its got my favorite station... weather.)

    thanks

I think crutchfield tends to be the best value, since install supplies are included, and they have good prices.

My 96 has a recent-model Alpine that has BT and HDRadio (which is awesome) and was in that low-$100's price range. Works great with the oem speakers and isn't too blingy, though it is blue rather than green. It came with a remote mic that I stuck to the corner of the windshield surround/a-pillar, and it works really well. I have been told that people didn't even realize it was a speakerphone even with the top down at city speeds.

In the mini I just have oem. Either factory stereos have improved quite a bit or I have become less-discerning than I used to be about sound quality.

I personally don't like detachable-face radio in a convertible. I've put one of these in the past 2 NA's I've owned....nothing fancy, but sounds great with Polk DB651 speakers.

Browse at Crutchfield, purchase at sonicelectronix. They also include all installation accessories, and most prices are lower.

Do the oem protégé radio swap, or find a MSSS Radio in good condition. I loved my MSSS.

I love the OEM look, but my better half "NEEDS" the USB and AUX lines. I too am not a fan of detachable face plates.

I had two OEM radios, the CD and the LCD screen wigged out. Currently I have a JVC and the buttons on the face plate stop working?

Maybe I get to excited and I get a little rough with it...oops.

If all else fails I will hit you up mtrx804.

    Yeah, I loved mine.

David, MKSlayer, hooked me up with his old MSSS stereo. The volume knob did not function 99% of the time. A member on Miata net figured out the correct potentiometer that was required to fix it. I'm not that skilled with small electronics, so I mailed it to him and he fixed it for the cost of the part and mailed it back to me. One of my favorite things I did to the car. I loved the little Miata graphic.

Here is the protégé unit I contemplated. There was a write up on how to make it fit the NA, I linked it on here a few years ago.......

I'm pretty handy with small electronics. I fix electric guitars/amps as another hobby.
