I know he is just trying to help, but this steering with the body thing is tough. Now I need to get a set of leathers so I can drive like that guy!

I will try to make this my first autocross event. How much cone marks on your first even autocross? How hard were they on the paint? I am still in the honeymoon stage with the RX-8. Maybe I should just bring my civic for my first time? Thanks

If you're worried about cones, a fresh coat of wax in the danger areas makes them easy to remove. They're rarely permament unless you slide sideways into one at 70...

Rubbing compound will get pretty much any cone mark out.

    Ask me how I know.

What do I need to bring to the event? Tire pressure gauage, lunchbox, painter tape, drinks? Should I inflate my tires to around 38psi and deflate if needed? And is shorts ok? Or long pants is required?

Shorts are OK. Tire pressures can wait until you get there. Bring money, plenty to drink, sunscreen and a hat. Read this fine document for more info!

As in pleural??? I see the problem here.....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...'Wow! What a ride!'
