BTW I have noticed the same thing......
Why wont the icons that indicate whether or not there is a new thread in a forum reset? Even if I hit reload or hit the index, it still says there is a new post. I am sure I have read the new post. I didnt have this problem with the old board. Is there something I am doing wrong?

What I've done to overcome this just backtrack using the links located at the top left corner of the page... So I hit -
Name of current thread - New Threads, then Bull, then I check for updates in Bull, then The Lounge, and then dfwmiata.com. It works... plus it keeps up to date on where as refreshing the page doesn't do it.
Perhaps it's a strange quirk... although it the same doesn't happen at other vBulletin sites.
Even if I do that 3bean, it still says there is new thread here, even after I read your post and the clicked up there, bull still said new post. Oh well.
Are you rejecting cookies? (or maybe some other weird browser setting)
Same thing is happening to me. I mentioned this to TC on Saturday and he said, it just does that and, it's apparently a bug

OK... here's the scoop. It's a F-E-A-T-U-R-E. It's why vBulletin runs faster than most other boards.
When you log on to the board, new posts appear "new" for 900 seconds (or some other arbitrary time limit I can set). It's less server-intensive than the way phpBB handled it.
The "easy" way to read everything is to click the "New Posts" link at the top of the page - I put a bookmark to it in my Firefox link bar. New posts that are made while you're reading will float to the top.

I have been overcoming this by clicking "Quick Links", "Mark Forums Read" after I have gone through all of the new posts. It clears everything out of the new posts list to start fresh.
