Texas says:
So I got a 05/16 Registration Windshield Sticker in the mail today for the 'Rolla so does that mean I can remove the inspection sticker and not have to get the car inspected until 05/2016??No, you will not have to pay for more than one inspection in a year. During the sync up year from March 1, 2015-February 29, 2016, some vehicle owners will go beyond their 12-month inspection cycle to align the expiration dates for inspection and registration.
For example:
Registration sticker expires 3/15
Inspection sticker expires 9/15
The owner will be able to renew registration in March 2015 and not have to get the vehicle inspected again until 2016 because the inspection sticker is valid at the time of renewal (inspection sticker expires 9/15).
The following year, before the end of March 2016, both inspection and registration will be due.

Sorry, I meant "yes, but wrap it around your trouser snake."

The inspection sticker on the Miata is long gone. Registration expires in December.
^Wait till I bump the timing and cut off the windshield!
Back from the dead! Got a letter from DMV today, reminding me my inspection expires the end of this month. I haven't got a registration renewal however.
Do I have to get the car inspected before they will mail the registration renewal papers?
I got the same. I got an inspection and then renewed my reg online.
