I used to have a link to a big graphic that showed the relative size of Pennington, Mineral wells, various TMS lots and LoneStar park...
Now, I didn't make this, just stole it of a website, and sometime since then I've lost it... Does any have this they could post?
does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?![]()

The numbers are the rentals... but what is the (number + number) mean?
I'd guess rental + deposit amounts.Originally Posted by Treibenschnell
So we could work out an equation:
(Acres + (Rental + Deposit)) X Distance Traveled = Amount of Seat Time???

I didnt know what GSW field was so I did a search and found an interesting read. GSW History
Too bad we'll probably never be able to use the TMS west lot again...![]()

I keep hearing this, what happened at the west lot? Looks like it would be a blast.

I knew what it was as soon as I saw the map... leaving DFW you can look down and see what looks to be a Perfect autoX area...Originally Posted by Majik
Looks like they use it for school bus training or something.. it's got marks all over it.
And the TMS West lot we repaved a year or so ago... They haven't been renting it out for driving events as they're afraid people will tear up the pavement running on it?
(same reason the starts are so weird on teh road course event.. TMS gets pissy about burnout starts on their pavement)

It did come apart pretty quick the first time around….Originally Posted by rx7gslse
Actually, the lot was poorly paved, and never intended for what we were using it for. However, what we were doing on it was not the cause of it's deterioration. The problems were caused largely by the large corporations who used it for ride and drive programs, and putting up large tents, sometimes as many a half dozen for one group, and driving stakes into the pavement. Once the water got under it, and given Texas' soil density, stuff happened. Packenbush admits it was not the autocross stuff that tore it up. They have considered repaving a 40 acre section to the same specs as the bus lot, and allowing us to use it again in the future. However, they have not budgeted the money to do that with, so we should not hold our breath.
I posted on the texas region solo site today that I had signed the contracts for four events at TMS. In the process, we changed the final TMS event to the bus lot as opposed to the infield paddock lot. We would have to use the road course infield for paddock, NOT ON the road course, but in the gravel/grass/weeds. That lot is a good 30% smaller than the bus lot and grip is about the same. I have a contact that can get the road shut down between paddock and bus lot, so we can grid there for those events...

SO the new lot they've put down will or won't get torn up rapidly by autoX? IF not, where is the issue in letting us run on it once a year?Originally Posted by OzCop
Secondly, what's the difference in specs between that and the bus lot? (I assume "bus lot" means thicker/reinforced pavement for heavier busses?

The part that was repaved was actually a very small section of what we were using, and it was a mere patch job in comparison. They coated it to make it look good, but other than that, it's still the same surface we used to use. The bus lot is a different mix, plus deeper roll, a more dense, higher impact compound than the regular parking lots...
