I see from reading the article, he told them he autox the car so they told the underwriting dept. I would never offer up that info, if they ask it is a "show car" and you drive it to car shows and that is it. You are not covered on track so they don't really need to know about it anyhow.

Pretty sure most major carriers will cancel your policy for autocross, it's a timed event on a closed course. They don't care if you use the R word or not, to them any event on a closed course with a timing, competition element or on a surface designed for that purpose = no go.

Well, if the autox community wouldn't look the other way when someone files a fraudulent insurance claim for something they did at autox, the industry would probably be less likely to have an issue. I can think of some instances of well-heeled "racers" who have done precisely that after they put their car into the curb/pole/fence...
