Thread: Talimina run?

    Default Talimina run?

    Hey guys & gals,

I've never organized anything before but have been TOTALLY itching to get back up to the Winding Stair Trail on the Talimina Parkway (scenic ride) in the Ouachita National Forest. (SE Oklahoma)

I'll holler at the SO to pick a date sometime on a weekend in April... It'll be a long day trip from Dallas up there and back.

Wouldn't that be sometime around December?

April 24th might be a good date, but I understand there is a Bluebonnet run that day. The 17th is probably clear, but there will be some tired Miata pilots at SCCA on Sunday. My vote is probably for the 10th, but I'm not sure how that fits in everyone's holiday plans.

I'd like to go back there also. That is some beautiful country. So let us know what day you decide on.

OK - It's down to April 10 or April 17!

I'm open to either weekend... so let's take a vote

I have reservations at the new Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine for Easter brunch on the 11th. So I'm not so sure I want to spent 8 to 10 hrs in the car the day before. The 17th is booked up for me, kid school thing.

What was wrong with the weekend of the 24th??? That weekend is currently wide open!

Nothing at all is wrong with that! Someone else mentioned the 10th and the 17th...

So we have the 10th, the 17th, and the 24th!

    Who votes for what?

10th & 24th are PCA TT dates and the 17th is SCCA AX school, if I am not mistaken or anybody else cares

I'm getting married on the 15th, maybe my first wife would like to do a run :o TWO DAYS LATER :o the day before SCCA #2

    Y'all have fun . . .

Well, if we do it on the 17th then we'll all have to wear black in mourning the loss of your single life.

SCCA Website shows the Drivers School July 24 . You may want to peek at the website more than once a year, it's been July for quite a while.

I'm OK with the 10th, better for the 24th, and a big NO for the 17th.

Looks like we don't have too many folks interested in the plan. Come on folks chime in anytime if you’re interested!

I vote for the 24th, but I would go on the 10th if the majority wanted to go that day.

I'll put it down for the 24th then...

I'll get my maps out, plan the routes and bio/gas/food breaks and put everything together!

I'll try to keep off major highways as much as possible
