Is there a cap on participants?
Looks like Gregg lee has set up the main website for the August SWDIV Divisional Solo, which will be held at Mineral Wells on August 13th & 14th.
I've signed up - I wanted to make the last two Divisionals, but the job hunting and job starting process got in the way. I plan to make this one.
Anyone else interested?

Hmmm, so I need to be an SCCA Member for this right? I guess I will sign up for a membership sunday... Id like to try a divisional!
Majik, I think they usually have a special temporary membership available.
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.
Finding information on this is not the simplest, at least to me the scca noob. I did finally find the site with information and guidelines via dlbracing. It says non scca members can get a temporary membership, but not clear on it.
"Non-SCCA members who wish to enter must purchase a Trial Membership. The Trial memberships may be purchased from the SCCA National office the Monday morning after the event."
So can you show up as a non-member and get this or would I need to contact the national office afterwards?
Wait, wait... so they want folks to sign up for a temp membership after the fact?Originally Posted by wrxmr2eater
I can't see that happening!!
Is this being run by the Government? This sure smells of GW logic.Originally Posted by Treibenschnell
I don't think they do temp membership anymore. If they did it would be on the SCCA membership page. http://www.scca.org/Join/Index.asp
Really I have no clue, this is one reason I have not been to a SCCA event yet. That quote was from :

Item #12
Since I know about the autocross.com/swdiv site I can comment. The primary information is posted once early in the year and I suspect most of it is a carry over of the previous year. Item #12 may not be valid. I am not an officer of the SCCA so I suggest using the National office contact info below for a "correct" answer.Originally Posted by wrxmr2eater

Or just PM OzCop for the low-down... he's kinda running the Texas Region SCCA Solo II program now (with regards to Mr. Ramey). At the event this weekend, they announced that "Temporary Memberships" would be available, and at a very reasonable price too...Originally Posted by general default

Reminder time! The SW Divisional at Mineral Wells is coming up on the 13th & 14th of August!
lugnutjon and I may be interested in splitting a hotel room, if we can find a couple of interested people.WOW!
It is still 2 weeks away and we already have 80 signed up.
That is awesome and way ahead of Houston at the same
point. If you have not reg'ed then get your name in now.
If you are timid about signing up... Don't be.
It's just like a regular regional event, but bigger and you
get to meet people from all over the state.
There are no special requirements. It does cost a little
more. But the friday night and saturday night parties
will be worth the trip. You can get 4 people (or more)
in a hotel room to make the cost reasonable.
We have great prizes to give away.
Nokia is donating car kits and some are bluetooth, I believe.
I think Matt was even able to get them to give up a couple
of cell phones for us to give away. I believe they are also
bringing out one of their show cars to show off.
Texas Driving Experience @ TMS is giving us some shirts
and hats and they are giving away one of their programs.
They will have one of their race cars on display as well
We will have plenty of 'Crazy' Water to keep you hydrated.
We will have lots of shade and a Port-a-cool (BIG FAN with mister)
to keep you cool.
Summer Creek Sausage will be on hand to sell hot dogs and
sausage on a stick. Which you will get to sample at the
Saturday night pool party.
If you have never been to a div then you are missing out
on a lot of fun. If you have then spread the word.
SIGN UP NOW!

Do you guys worry about your trailers and tire tails when you stay overnight?

Not usually.Originally Posted by Miatamoto
Truthfully, if we end up staying in Mineral Wells, I'll probably see if I can leave my trailer (and my car, and catch a lift to the hotel) parked by one of the RVs that will be camping overnight at the event site. I know a couple of people who will be hauling their mobile mansions out for the Divisional.

Several of us will be spending the night at the site. In fact, I will get there Thursday evening most likely... I'll be happy to keep an eye on things...I usually come prepared to protect.

Just to clarify, you do need to be an SCCA member to participate. If you're not a member then they have you fill out a temporary membership form which is sent in to the SCCA offices following the event along with all the other official paperwork. you pay nothing. if you want to join the SCCA then you can purchase a membership at a discounted price. no strings attached and you get to participate in a sanctioned event!
