Thread: Just wondering

    Cool Just wondering

About 3 or 4 months ago, I was driving down 121 going east. Just past Independence this BRG Miata drove by me so I followed weaving through traffic but I got caught behind some traffic and he was about 10 cars ahead of me.Further down 121 I see him up there and I have a chance to get to him. He must have seen me coming because he punched it, but he's way ahead of me so I keep it floored. I am steadily gaining on him. He has his top up, it's an LS, My top is down. When I passed him I was at about 120 mph and I kept going, we're coming up to where it turns back to one lane and I have to slow down because of a BMW driving about 70. When I had to hit the brakes I checked the speedometer...133mph! The fastest I've ever been in any car. The adrenaline is flowing like crazy, and believe it or not my hat stayed on. Anyway, I'm settling down from the rush just staying behind the traffic and the BRG passes me and about 3 other cars and gets in the left turn lane and we share waves as I drive by. I was just wandering if this incident sounds familiar to anybody on here.

    hello David,
that means this topic has nothing to do with the other posts in the threat you posted in... anyway you drive top down and a hat, do you have a wind screen and a green miata? if so i may have see you on 75 going south towards downtown dallas... or someone that didn't really race, i was toying around with some kids in a honda. i would pass them and wait for them then pass them again and they still kept trying to beat me, hahaahaa... good times never end.

It means that this topic is more appropriately located in the Bull section... don't take it as a bad thing.

The Bull section is more of our general "chew the fat" section...

    Don't sweat it!

That's the one thing you'll find here... plenty of stuff to "chew the fat" on... and plenty of BRGs.

As long as we're shooting the bull here, this is a question I have asked myself a million times....Why does everybody(other than Miata owners) think Miata's are girl cars, when all you see is guys driving them?

That I'll never get either... light weight, small, rear wheel drive, 50/50 weight distribution, the anti-thesis of the truck/suv/macho hot rod crowd...

Although on this board you'll find that several women drive their Miatas harder/faster/better than some of the men do!

everytime i find myself driving with a pack of miatas they always turn out to be old white headed ladies, it's rare when i see a guy who appreciates a nice car, but then i think about it and look at it this way, family ppl usually drive family cars, unless you are single, have another car, or your kids moved out already, then you would drive a miata... eh, sucks that you can only take one lady home per night, i've had to turn down some, hahaaa. unless you're quick about it, hahaa but thats a whole new forum...

I agree... talk about STREET RACING somewhere else.

"Most" of us on here keep it on the track. Recently I have noticed some new members braging about racing on the streets..If you want to brag lets see some REAL numbers laid down in a controlled environment . Learn how to drive on a track and or autocross course and then brag about who you beat on here.
    No more Miata

I used to be stupid, then I grew up and found a controlled environment where innocent bystanders were not at risk. If you can beat me on course, I will respect that; I will never respect anyone driving foolishly on the street.

Nothing like loosing on the track by a 0.2 of a second!!! on a 97 second course that only 0.21% faster. But still faster. (thats how much faster bean was than me at the last S2k)
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...
