Just found this, yippie! more money to spend on the car. http://www.finishlineperformance.com...ns/09_003.html
My top is starting to have a small hole worn in it. It is just behind the drivers side window, where the top folds under the frame. Sammm, I think I remember you patched your old top. Has anyone else? What did you guys use? Thanks.

Mine has a little ½" tear too, just a couple of inches above and behind the driver side window. Doesn't seem to be a highly stressed area so who knows why it tore? Anyway I think a little duct tape (on the inside!) ought to do it.
majik, you can come look at sam's old top how he patched it, its on my car now and were close.

I still have the 'Goop'. All you would need are some small iron-on patches (got them at Tarzhay).
PS
Duct tape won't work...I tried that first.
I'm not trying to change the topic here but is there a good product that can be applied to the top that will keep it soft and slow down the rotting process and then the tears?

I usually put some on right after I wash the car.
Sammm, is that the shoe repair "Goop"? I think I saw that at Target too. Thanks for the tip.Originally Posted by sammm
I got the 'All Purpose Household Sealant GOOP' at Target. It's around the glues and that kind of stuff.Originally Posted by Darron65
FWIW, lugnutjon's top had a small hole in it when he bought it. He patched it from the inside with duct tape, and it's help up fine over the last four years and 80,000 miles.
