    Thumbs up

Mechanical engineer here too. Worked in some sort of automotive job for most of my career. Working at Peterbilt and loving it -- they're good people.

Damn, I don't know any injuneering, or how to work on any systems or even how to construct decent sentences. How can I be a member of this board without some of those skills?
I am a servent to the rich and sometimes famous. (Golf Pro at a local country club.)
I have two daughters in college and another in law school, and I already paid for their older sister who has graduated, so my reeeealllll job is holding up liquor stores at night.

Stick with it. I am 32 and I just graduated with my BSME this spring. My days (and my boss ) used to be straight out of Office Space as well, before I went back to finish my degree. Now I have a challenging job that I really enjoy.

BTW, I'm with rx7gslse - aren't wave functions for surfers?

You think you have it bad...I can't even get DSL here thanks to those Verizon SOBs so I'm still on 56k dial-up. I'm in Plano (zip 75025) and I have finally seen some signs the fiber is getting here (orange spools of conduit). I also know that means I'm still at least six months from actually getting FIOS at my place. Argh!!!

It's possible. It's the babelfish translation of Sausage Vendor. Now I'll have to change it.

Oh yeah, I heard about that. That was a friend of one of the refs I work with a lot.

It's been slow getting games this summer, especially since I had reconstructive nose surgery (puck intentionally shot at face ). I've been to Richardson and Plano recently and ref there most often. I should be refing a lot when the winter sessions start we should run into each other at the rink.

To solve the "Office Space" days you could get a job for the DOD with an ME like my friend in Michigan. In fact he is in town on business. You get to do a lot of cool and crazy stuff being an engineer for the DOD!

Small world...that was my wife's boss. It had only been a few hours before when he told people at work he wanted to die with his skates on.

No, you've got it right tailchaser... Sausage Vendor or Sausage seller. "Chunk blower" would be something like "Klotzbläser" (although that's a pretty literal translation).

Back on topic, I'm a Finance guy, turned IT guy, turned IT/Finance guy. I work for PepsiCo (parent company for Frito-Lay, Pepsi, Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade) in their IT department as a Senior Planning Manager. That means I crunch a lot of numbers, and tell the IT people how much money they can't spend...
