I was reading that thread. Some are up in arms about that and about the blue Camaro doing the u-turn to get a running start at the timer. The 'incident' was concering a certain white S2000 doing an alleged victory donut after getting FTD. I was there when it happened and it was innocent enough. No harm done to anyone or anything.

Of course, speeding from the course finish into the paddock was common.
I know, I know, I'm always coming down on LSBMWCCA. However, I can't believe that they've slid far enough to let that kind of crap happen and no one bats an eyelid. Pulling stunts like that would get you summarily thrown out of any other event around here - as it ought to be.

Autocrossing is inherently dangerous. You're piloting more than a ton of steel, plastic, and glass at speeds high enough to get yourself killed or total your vehicle. Helmets aren't required as a fashion statement. I would never return to an event that took safety that lightly, and I would warn others to stay away. Maybe the only incident they had this weekend involved minor car damage, but with that kind of attitude it's only a matter of time before someone gets injured or worse.

Come on I did a couple of victory donuts myself, although I forgot to wait until I had actually crossed the finish line.

The Camaro was trying to maximize his start, can’t blame a guy for trying. Once he was told that was not acceptable he did not repeat his actions. Both the S2K and Camaro apologized for any perceived infraction. It’s good to know the hammer will come down if you very from the format ant an S2K event!

But on the other side of the spectrum, it sounds like the BMW guys really haven't changed since I retired from running BMW events, which is surprising and somewhat disappointing.

By the way... it appears from the S2K results that turboduane and sammm are officially eligible to be on the receiving end of smack talk.

And... uhh... Anyone notice that lost216's kiddo officially smacked a bunch of us around at SCCA? My ego (and probably her daddy's, too) says it's probably a T&S glitch based on the other times... but... geeez! What a birthday present!

Hey now, don't pull me into your politics. Rest assured, Samm has nothing to worry about.....That is untill I figure out which way I'm going through these things....i.e. front forward or back

Nice writeup! I always enjoy reading them, especially when my name is included.
