It always makes me happy to tell them I won't be giving them money when they call. They always seem a little surprised, like I've them.

Maybe I should tell them I give my charitable donations to fuzzy animals (Nature Conservancy), higher education, and libertarian public interest law firms (the Institute for Justice) instead. Every state trooper I see is obviously well-fed, and doesn't seem to need further assistance.

I've been told that you can tell the contracted telemarketing service that you are interested but want to pay by check. They will send you the stickers along with the bill. If you ignore the bill, the telemarketer gives you another call. This is where you tell them you changed your mind / you were drunk when you made the commitment / you don't know what they are talking about, etc. You will see no stickers on my car as I have never tried this, but I am told that this works almost every time.

The bigger question is if the stickers really do you any good.

    DOH!

I know what you mean on them hiding... I slow down a few mph & look ahead in the toll lanes AND in the booths too - they like to hide there - before blowing through the toll tag lanes.

I got nailed passing a long string of cars... he was hiding in a red lighted toll booth. He couldn't tag my little car so he gave me a ticket for 60 in a 45 - the speed everyone else was going! (which I was passing like they were sitting still hehehehe)

Oh well, at least I deserved the ticket that time!

They like to hide in that little white-lined area where the onramps meet PGBT between the tollway & I35E and the onramp from Josey Lane is a VERY popular spot for Carrollton to have an officer with a laser gun standing up on the hill by the booths... He'll radio down to his buddies to get you.

It's nice that they put that concrete wall up! Now they have to be better at hiding... no more crossing over the median to get you. That sure has helped a LOT!

You'll learn quickly where they like to hide - Hopefully before you get another ticket.

Oh - almost forgot - be aware of groups of cars... there will probably be a DPS car in the middle of 'em.

Might help if I read all the posts before responding eh? Doh!

Still, could never hurt to take it to court. Worst case, you still have to pay it.

That's the truth. They give out a lot of petty tickets cause they know the majority of the public isn't going to contest them. I had a Dallas cop one night at a car hang out give me and a friend a ticket for "miscellaneous" and the court dismissed it for "miscellaneous" reasons! I kept the court papers its so funny seeing:

    Offence: miscellaneous
    Dismissed: miscellaneous
