    WOW, 9 people... that's great!

As I suspected, it looks like only a few of my German friends will be coming -- the Miata crowd will definitely outnumber the "Germans" . I'll wait until the end of the day tomorrow (10FEB) to take the final count, but [in answer to IMVivid's question] there will be no problem with the table size.

This will be a lot of fun...

While at TBC yesterady, we discussed a plan...

If you'll make sure that onething has your cell #, Kestrel, we'll give you a call from the rally point on Saturday with a count of who's there, which, with any luck, will be equal to the count you have tomorrow afternoon!

I think onething and others have my cell phone number . Also, I have cell numbers for tailchaser, onething, and POS, (and altiain, but it looks like he's not going to be joining us) so I can give you a call on her land line if needed...

Wish I could do the "twisty road ride" with you all, but I'm looking forward to the party .

I have that number, but nobody ever answers it or ever returns my call

I should have gotten the number for the restaurant the other night. What time will Kestrel Clan be getting there? Think we'll be headed that way by 4:00.

Sorry, but I have that cell phone for my convenience, not anyone else’s (at least, that's what I tell people at work, since my company doesn't pay for it ). I usually return calls if you'll leave a message (I know you did once, and I didn't return the call... sorry), and I plan to have the phone in my pocket until about 6:15pm.

We will arrive around 5:00pm, so that we can eat before the crowd starts rolling in around 6:00pm. We'll probably put on a short show at 6:30pm or so, and then a slightly longer set at 8:00pm. If there are folks left later in the evening, we might do another short show at 9:45pm or so, but we'll play that one by ear.

Would that be the Denny's at :

OK, here's the final list of people for whom I'll make reservations:
    • onething + 1
      POS
      IMVivid + 1
      tailchaser + 1
      mathews2004 + 1
9 "Miata folks" in all! I'll put you at my table, to arrive sometime between 6:30 and 7:00pm. Please let me know if this is accurate, as I'll be calling Hannah to make the reservations tonight.

And just so you know, there is a hotel (I don't remember what it's called, but I think it's one of the chain type) basically at the corner of 20 and 19, just a few miles south of the restaurant. If you have a few too many... schnapps ... and feel you need to spend the night, that's a good option.

Remember to BYOB. I'm looking forward to the party... it should be fun!

Kestrel, In the BYOB that is only if you want any kind of alcohol beverage right. I'm figuring that Hannahs provides soft drinks and or tea, yes.

I know she has iced tea, and I'm pretty sure she has soft drinks. "Bringing your own" should only apply to alcoholic beverages, unless you just gotta have a Pepsi Blue or Sobo Lizard Lightning.

Thanks Kestrel I just like to ask to be sure. You never know that would be the one time the soft drink machine wouldn't work or like when we went and had lunch near Glen Rose that had a water problem so every thing tasted like POOP

Well, I'm hoping nothing at the Bear Creek Cafe tastes like POOP...

You might want to throw a couple of Pepsi's in the cooler with POS's Mad Dog 20/20 and Boon's Farm Ripple... just to be safe.

Actually the food was good it was just the soft drinks, water and ice tea that were affected. Yeah I'll slip some Pepsi's into POS's cooler disguised as COORS Light, he'll never know the difference.

I may join this cruise, have a snack and head back early (have a hockey game at 9:15). Randy.

Just a warning to those of you planning to go - weather.com is predicting rain/freezing rain/snow showers for the Metroplex for Saturday. Y'all be careful out there.

Bah! The chances of rain/snow are highly overrated.

Good point Iain. There is a Holiday Inn Express at the corner of 20 and 19... about 5 miles south of the Bear Creek Cafe. If it gets bad, or if you just don't fancy the long drive back after a night of Lederhosen and beer , you could always crash there (OK, maybe "crash" wasn't a good choice of words ). They even have an outdoor pool for all you members of the Ploar Bear Club!

Yea, plus if the snow comes through sounds like it will be tonight, and then we start warming up!

Saucer-sized snowflakes hit Athens at lunch
-- 43 degrees on the square.

It aint gonna stick - low tonight is supposed to be 34, and the ground is nowhere near frozen.
I doubt the bridges will even be a problem around here.
