Thread: Blow-out prices are back...

  1. #1

    Default Blow-out prices are back...

Bought an F-150 tonight... Hell, was just shopping and wanted to get pricing, but got the hook set at the first dealer...

$4500 rebate and $1000 rebate for financing through Ford on top of the X-plan pricing through work...

Yeah, Ford makes up for the $1000 with a higher interest rate, but I'll pay it off early enough to make them lose money on that deal.

They even threw in the heavy duty tow hitch.

Now to save up some money for a flatbed trailer and I can easily haul the Spec around.

If you guys are lookin' for a pickup, they are back to dealin' some great numbers.

Channelmaniac: Well, I really should discuss this with my wife.
Salesman: [scoffs] Your wife? [cracks an imaginary whip]
Channelmaniac: What, you think I'm going to buy a $20,000 truck just because you
    make that noise?

HAHAHAHA - Well, we just needed an excuse... The Jeep died... I think it's either the coil or the ignitor... but with 223K on it, it's time to put it out to pasture. We'll be calling the Dallas Can Academy and having them pick it up for auction.

With that many miles, it's crazy to try to trade it in... especially not running. Funny thing too... I just put a harmonic balancer, water pump, and a lower radiator hose on it.

It's in beautiful shape & doesn't burn a drop of oil... power everything... but not worth it to me to keep throwing parts at it with that many miles and with me needing something that can tow my spec and pickup/deliver arcade games for my side biz - buying/selling/repairing games.

Yes and as long as it doesn't run it will never burn oil either

So I take it you have come to the realization that driving to the races might not be the best long term plan?

I realized that all along... I just needed to have a better excuse to finally go get a truck.

Now that I have a truck, I'll be hearing from everyone that needs something moved.
