    Default I'm disappointed....

I'm a wee bit disappointed here.

I have had maybe 4 people contact me about the Tech Day in McKinney this Saturday and one just canceled. The other's are maybes.

Is it the location? day? I certainly had plenty of notice.

I really was looking forward to hosting a good ole' tech day and help juxt3r out. I also hoped, by offering my place we'd get some helping hands and have some good Miata banter.

Host it and they will come. I think not.

Two things for me. One is the location. Usually being closer to the middle helps. Being in southwest fort worth the drive is a bit long. The second, it is my brothers b-day and I have to work that night. So I figure I should spend some time with him. Also Sunday is an autoX. I dont know about others. I usually like to make it out to these and help wrench.

All of the above. I'm a little closer in NE Tarrant County, but it's still a long drive to McKinney for me.

On top of that, we're having new carpet installed in three rooms on Monday and Tuesday, which means I've got a bunch of closets to clean and furniture to disassemble Saturday if I want to go racing on Sunday.

A trip to McKinney isn't that big of a deal for me, the big deal is during a two day weekend being MIA from my family for both days. I actually like my family and enjoy spending time with them, so I'm out for Saturday, but I will be AXing on Sunday.

I'm rather disappointed you didn't get a bigger response since quite a few of the MME kids seem to live up in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area. Wonder why they are scared of your tech day black roadster are you mean?

I've given you a maybe... but I've still got to figure out my plans as well.

Currently, the BUR is on jackstands and won't be moving... and I've got to replace the tranny speed sensor on my VW this weekend. I'm hoping I can make it out...

It's the day. We're into the heart of the Holiday Season, and people just have tons of plans. I would LOVE to do this after the first of the year, though. And McKinney is fine by me.

I know McKinney is far for some but I've come to Tech Days in the mid-cities. I wouldn't drive to a tech day in South Fort Worth either. Heck, my Mom lives over there and I hardly see her!

I too expected more South Okla-Homers (Doh!) to join in. Had a few maybes as I said.

I certainly understand the Family Time which is why I wanted this one to count.

Ah well... Guess I won't host anymore unless I move to Useless or Bedford.

Honestly, the general feeling I got was "come by if you want to see/help with a TB change but there might not be time or room for anything else".

Between the craziness with travel at work and having to move furniture back in the house after drywall work & painting... My Saturday is booked...

I've done 3 TB/WP jobs as well as crank/cam seals, o-rings, and lots more.

There's your answer. You just eliminated 90% of the folks who post here

I want to come since mine is due soon. OTOH -- I have painters at my house complaining that they can't do their job until I finish mine
